I lost my mother last August, a most unexpected loss though she was suffering from Alzheimer. She didn't want any kind of help, she stubbornly insisted on living on her own (I managed to have someone visit her and clean the house twice a week but nothing more) and my life had become a nightmare seeing she was getting worse and worse with her memory problems. On June the situation had become unbearable and I was forced to take her to a rest home where she could get the medical assistance she needed. When I wrote my last post, she was doing fine and I was beginning to cope with my sense of guilt... Then, in a week's time, depression took over her and she gave up her daily struggle. So many things have changed in my life. Suffering makes you grow somehow, and I feel I am a different person than I was a few months ago. Hopefully a better one. I know my mum is somewhere looking after me, she now is in peace and she's with her parents and my father again. But I miss her a lot. I'll start posting to this blog again, in fact I already did. I'll probably post less than in the past but I'll do my best to visit your blogs and comment on your photos. I have missed lots of good photography in these months. See you soon, Sil | |||
